The History of SJBS

In 1992, SJBS was founded with the understanding that preparing taxes and bookkeeping is much more than providing that service.  It is about impacting people’s lives- It is a mission field within itself.  SJBS started because Sue had been preparing taxes for a successful entrepreneur, who remains her client today. Shortly thereafter recession happened, and money became scarce. She began preparing tax returns for several more friends.  Startup costs were minimal.  She used her husband’s office space and gathered free printed IRS forms at the local post office.  Setting a goal for 50 returns that year, advertising in Thrifty Nickel, and committing to The Golden Rule of treating everyone as she would want to be treated, 125 tax returns were prepared.  The next year 250.  Several years thereafter, the goal was doubled. Then the business continued to grow to what it is today. In 2007, her son and his wife, Rob and Tina, took over and have been running it ever since.  

 

SJBS currently has two locations and serves over 2500 clients.  We prepare all levels of tax returns – individuals, sole proprietors, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, etc.  We also offer year- round services for tax debt relief planning, life insurance, and payrolls, sales tax reports, bookkeeping for small business, and more.
